Rock and Roll Album CD Cover design- Heavy Metal CD design- Angel Statue Revised

Posted July 15th, 2008 in Category Uno by fernando

Here is a revised version of the angel statue. The client wasn’t convinced he wanted the model used on the first angel- he wanted something more “breastly”- so this is what I came up with- I’m pretty happy with it. I made this image using adobe photoshop, stacking layers upon layers of effects and filters.

Check out this photo I converted into a cement statue- I used a few textures and filters in photoshop to create this effect. It took me a little over an hour to do. Basically I cut out the angel from the photo, grayscaled her, cleared out her eyes to make them look a solid color, applied some cement/granite textures over her and set the layer to multiply or overlay- i don’t remember which one exactly, then applied the rusted/aged cement orange in select areas, added the column on which she sits, and a falling feather to insinuate she recently was real or will become real very soon, and finally added some breaks and cracks to give it an aged effect- vuala! you got your self a c-ment angel.

I welcome any questions or critiques- thanks for stopping by.

CD Package Design- British Rock CD Cover album art: Februa II

Posted June 6th, 2008 in Category Uno by fernando

The finished cd package design for the alternative British rock band from the UK came out just right. The cd album art was inspired by the album title “This time it won’t be forever”. The cd cover design, illustration took some time to develop but working closely together with the art director helped to acheive the optimal result. I changed the castle into a titanic looking ship that’s about to be engulfed by a title wave, tsunami I designed. British rock cd design is a genre all it’s own differing from American art in it’s attitude.
I carried the cover design theme through out the rest of the packaging- and I’m quite happy with the results. I used a combination of adobe photoshop, illustrator, and inDesign to layout this artwork. Feel free to voice your hatred or love of my work by leaving a comment. Enjoy.

Musica Latina diseño grafico de disco- diseñador grafico. Hey, that girls got a butterfly on her face. For some reason female pop stars love butterfly’s- maybe because it implies rebirth and the pretty patterns and colors. I don’t know, but this cover design was the chosen one amongst seven different designs. It wasn’t my first choice but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Below are the alternative designs. I basically isolated her photo in adobe photoshop, polished them up, adjusted the colors, arranged design elements, swirls and motifs.Fortunately some of these cover designs where salvaged and reused in some way for the inside pages of the cd booklet design.
